My mom sent me actually the clip of it on the news at like 10 p.m. at night,” McGinley recalled to the outlet. “And from there, you know, there’s a lot of things running through my mind. Like, ‘Was my dress affected or not?’ “
While her dress was lost in the accident and two months is a fairly short amount of time in the context of a wedding, McGinley said it could have been worse — as it was for other brides whose dresses were destroyed in the fire.
“I’ve been in touch with a lot of different brides on Facebook [and] other places,” she said. “And, you know, I’m kind of in a scenario where I have a couple of months to figure out where my next dress is gonna come from, but I feel so sorry for those brides that are getting married in one week, two weeks, you know, that are scrambling for something right now.”
