Several brides in the Scranton, Pa., area were left scrambling — some just weeks out from their weddings — after a fire tore through a local alterations shop, destroying their original gowns.
Around 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, the Shiraz Alteration Center in Clarks Summit caught fire, ABC affiliate WNEP reported at the time, leaving the owners to sift through the remnants for any salvageable garments from their many customers.
Days later, the shop shared a message on Facebook, letting its customers know whose items survived the fire. “We have been working tirelessly to assess the situation,” the business wrote. “We have compiled a complete list of all the clothes and receipts that survived the fire undamaged or are currently being restored, cleaned, and repaired to be returned to you in perfect condition.”
