A Valentine’s Day episode of *Wheel of Fortune* left viewers divided after contestant Conner Kemmsies missed a major bonus prize because he could not solve the final puzzle. The commercial pilot had already won $19,080 in cash and prizes before reaching the Bonus Round.
The Bonus Round category was “Phrase,” and the puzzle revealed several letters that gave Conner a challenging combination. He quickly recognized the beginning as “I DID MY,” but the remaining letters did not immediately reveal the answer.
As the clock counted down, Conner struggled to identify the final word. When time expired, the correct answer was revealed as “I DID MY HOMEWORK.” The missed solution cost him a potential $40,000 bonus prize.
Afterward, Conner took the disappointment in stride and joked about the answer. “Aw, dude, I don’t do homework anymore. I’m not in school now,” he said, offering a lighthearted explanation for why the phrase did not immediately come to mind.
However, many viewers focused less on Conner’s performance and more on the puzzle itself. Some fans argued that “I DID MY HOMEWORK” did not qualify as a traditional phrase and instead sounded like an ordinary sentence.
