Do you believe your mind is still young and sharp?
Let’s put that to the test with an interesting puzzle.
Look carefully at the image.

It’s an old-fashioned drawing, maybe from a children’s book or an old magazine.
The text at the top sets a playful challenge.
“Old age is no threat if you can spot the third mountaineer.”
It’s a bold claim, connecting your observation skills to your ‘youthfulness.’
So, what do we see?
The drawing shows a dramatic scene on a rocky mountain.
On the left, a man is perched on a ledge.
He has a determined look.
He’s dressed in proper hiking gear with a cap.
He’s pulling hard on a thick rope.
Where does the rope go?
It goes around some rocky outcrops.
On the other end of the rope, there’s another man.
He’s hanging in mid-air!
He looks panicked, with his arms flailing.
He’s in a tough spot, for sure.
So, that’s two mountaineers.
One rescuer and one in trouble.
Two is a very clear and obvious number.
But the puzzle says there’s a third mountaineer.
Just one more.
It can’t be that simple.
They must be well-hidden.
Where would a third person be in this precarious situation?
Are they above, below, or somewhere in-between?
Maybe they are a part of the environment itself?
Is their figure cleverly disguised within the lines of the drawing?
Don’t rush to scroll for an answer.
Take a good, long look at the image again.
