Which of these animals has 5 eyes?

Got your guess locked in? Keep it in mind! Before we reveal the big winner, let’s take a friendly, lighthearted tour through our contestants’ unique ways of seeing the world.

Candidate A: The Periscope-Eyed Crab

First up, we have the crab. If you look closely at a crab, its eyes look like tiny, adorable black beads sitting on top of little stalks. These are called compound eyes, meaning they are made up of thousands of tiny visual units.

The coolest thing about crab eyes? They act just like little periscopes on a submarine! A crab can poke its eyes up to look around while keeping the rest of its body safely hidden under the sand. However, when it comes to the number of eyes, crabs stick to a simple pair.

Total eye count: 2 (but very cool ones!)

Candidate B: The Multi-Legged Centipede
