“[Showrunner] Amy [B. Harris] and I were watching them film… Everybody’s at The Tavern gathered around, and Amy turned to me and she was like, ‘You should be in there,’” Fortune recalled. “That was pretty cool. I loved how the cameo played out.”
Every Year After isn’t the only screen adaptation of Fortune’s books on deck. Her 2024 novel, This Summer Will Be Different, will be adapted into a TV series for Netflix Canada. Fortune’s 2023 book, Meet Me at the Lake, is also in development from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s Archewell Productions company.
