NYC’s Katz’s Deli Is Touching Down in the Midwest for a Limited Time This Summer to ‘Make More Pastrami Dreams a Reality’ (Exclusive)

Katz’s Deli is bringing its iconic fare back to the Midwest this summer.

The iconic New York restaurant, a staple of the city’s Lower East Side neighborhood that was featured in When Harry Met Sally, is taking a step beyond the Big Apple this summer.

Katz’s is bringing its pastrami sandwiches to Foodies Eat First Fest, a St. Louis food festival taking place from Aug. 22 to Aug. 23, for the second year in a row.

“We’re excited to bring a taste of New York to St. Louis for the Foodies Eat First festival again this year,” a spokesperson for Katz’s told PEOPLE in an emailed statement.

“It was amazing to see the positive response & level of excitement from festival goers last summer, plus our carving team loves to travel!” they added. “Looking forward to making more pastrami dreams a reality.”

According to the food festival’s Instagram, the deli sold “more than 500 pounds of pastrami during their festival debut last August,” so it was “only right” to bring the restaurant back this year.

The festival’s founder, an influencer who goes by @BradENstl, called it “the only authentic Katz’s experience outside of New York.”

World famous Katz's Deli sandwiches are served at the after party for the screening of "Taxicab Confessions New York, New York " at Katz's Deli on February 1, 2005
