In several of his reflections, Yokoi Kenji explains that order is not coldness, but a form of respect for life. When there is order, there is clarity. And when there is clarity, there is prosperity.
These are the eight things you should never lend, not out of selfishness, but out of wisdom.
1. Never lend your peace
Many people don’t take money from you, but they take away your peace of mind. They drag you into their conflicts, into their emotional chaos, into their constant dramas. You start sleeping badly, overthinking, living tense.
When peace is lost, performance drops, decisions worsen and the economy suffers. Taking care of your peace is not being insensitive, it is protecting your mental and emotional balance.
2. Never lend your time
Money recovers, time does not. There are people who are not looking for help, they are looking to occupy your agenda. Five minutes become hours, and hours become years living the lives of others.
Poor time management is one of the most common causes of personal and financial stagnation.
3. Never lend your ear without discernment
Listening isn’t bad, but becoming an emotional garbage dump is. There are those who only come forward to complain, victimize themselves and vent frustrations.
Constant emotional pollution changes your character, your outlook on life, and leads you to make bad decisions.
4. Never lend your house to just anyone
Your home is not just walls: it is an environment, a rhythm, an energy. Opening the door to people with destructive habits alters family harmony.
Your home is not a refuge for the clutter of others. Protecting him is an act of intelligence, not toughness.
5. Never lend your name or signature
Your reputation is worth more than money. Signing for others, being a co-signer or lending your name under pressure is one of the most dangerous decisions that exist.
When the problem appears, almost always the person responsible disappears, and the one who is trapped is you.
