“You braked suddenly for no reason,” he replied calmly. “I kept my distance, but you set me up on purpose.”
“You’re going to lecture us now?” the shaved man smirked. “Do you even know who you’re talking to?”
They weren’t even hiding it anymore—this had been intentional. Pressure, intimidation, threats.
“Let’s settle this here. Cash. Quickly.”
The пенсионер looked at them carefully—not frightened or confused, just attentive.
The bandits had no idea who this “poor old man” really was or what would happen to them in a few minutes
“Alright,” he said. “We’ll settle everything now.”
The old man took out his phone.
And at that moment, the men still didn’t know that he wasn’t just a “retired man in an old car.”
“Hello,” he said evenly. “I’m on the highway, kilometer marker such-and-such. Yes, that place. Come.”
The shaved man smirked.
“Who did you call?”
The пенсионер didn’t answer.
About seven minutes later, a дорожная полиция (traffic police) vehicle pulled up with its lights flashing. The men exchanged glances, but they weren’t nervous yet.
A tall officer in uniform stepped out. He quickly assessed the situation, then turned to the пенсионер.
“Father, are you alright?” he asked.
“Alive,” the old man replied shortly.
The shaved man tried to take control.
“Officer, this old guy didn’t keep his distance, crashed into us—”
The officer didn’t even look at him.
“The cameras already showed everything,” he said calmly. “Crossing a solid line. Dangerous maneuver. Sudden braking without cause.”
The men fell silent.
“And by the way,” the officer added, “this is my father.”
The silence turned heavy.
“So you decided to stage an accident?” he continued more harshly. “Thought the highway had no cameras?”
The shaved man went pale.
“We… we didn’t mean to…”
“Talk later. Documents.”
Within ten minutes, two patrol cars were already on the scene.
A report was being written. Cameras from nearby poles confirmed everything down to the second.
The пенсионер stood calmly, simply watching as the men who had been threatening him just minutes ago now silently signed papers.
The officer approached his father.
“You didn’t have to play hero,” he said quietly.
The пенсионер shrugged.
“I was driving by the rules. And I’m not about to give in to arrogance.”
The men no longer shouted. Now they were asking in a completely different tone if something could be “worked out.” But it was too late.
