According to recent studies, bees have disappeared by 90% worldwide, and the reasons vary depending on the region. The main factors include massive deforestation, lack of safe nesting sites, lack of flowers, uncontrolled use of pesticides, changes in soils and a decrease in the number of beekeepers.

Over 70% of global agriculture depends on these insects, and it can be said that 70 out of 100 foods we consume are the result of the pollination process carried out by bees.

Furthermore, pollination by bees is vital for the reproduction of plants, which are the main source of food for millions of animals. Without it, fauna would gradually begin to disappear.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Solutions do exist, but they are difficult to implement in modern society, given the harmful practices in Romania’s production and agriculture.

However, experts have proposed several solutions, with the hope of implementing them as soon as possible:

• Ban , not just limit, the use of toxic pesticides. A shift to using pesticides that are not harmful to pollinators is proposed.

• Promoting completely natural agricultural alternatives.

• Conducting constant research and monitoring of the health, condition and protection of bees.

• Supporting programs that allow the population to participate in the process of saving bees by supporting beekeepers – for example, by purchasing natural honey or participating in national projects such as “Aspen Beehive”. You can participate in such a project through the initiative…
