The five-minute method
The secret to quick analysis lies in loosening dirt where hard scrubbing is required. By cleverly using heat and moisture, the grease comes off on its own.
Step 1: Let the air fryer cool down slightly
. After use, the air fryer is hot. Let it cool down for two to three minutes; make sure you don’t burn yourself, but it should be warm and soft. That makes solving the problem much easier.
Step 2: Warm water and dish soap.
Remove the basket and the drawer from the air fryer. Fill the drawer with warm water and a few drops of dish soap. Place the basket inside and let it sit for one to two minutes. The warm water loosens the grease without the need to scrub.
Step 3: Quick rinse.
After soaking, you can easily rinse the basket and drawer with a soft cloth sponge. Stubborn dirt usually disappears on its own. Avoid scouring pads, as they can damage the non-stick coating.
Step 4: Freshen up the interior.
Take a lightly damp cloth with a little dish soap and wipe the inside of the air fryer clean. Be careful around the heating element and make sure no water drips in. Often, one quick wipe is sufficient.
Step 5: Dry and done.
Dry everything with a clean tea towel or let it air dry briefly. Put the parts back and your air fryer will look like new again.
Extra tip for slanted scents
Does an odor still linger? Then place a small bowl of water with a slice of lemon or a splash of vinegar in the drawer. Run the air fryer for two minutes at 180 degrees. The steam neutralizes odors and leaves your appliance smelling fresh again.
What you better not do
Many people make cleaning their air fryer unnecessarily difficult by using the wrong products. Oven cleaner, bleach, or harsh degreasers can damage the coating and are often unsuitable for appliances in which you prepare food. Putting parts in the dishwasher is also not always recommended, especially for older models.
Additionally, it is not a good idea to completely fill the air fryer with water or hold it under the tap. It is impossible for electrical parts to be damaged.
Daily maintenance manual time
Anyone who takes an extra minute after each use to remove crumbs and rinse the basket prevents caked-on dirt. This ensures a thorough cleaning is possible within five minutes. Never let it sit for days, as this requires considerably more effort.
A simple custom is to place the basket immediately after cooking, even in warm water, while you eat. By the time you are finished, it will be over in no time.
Baking soda for extra shine
Do you really want a sparkling result? Then mix a teaspoon of baking soda with warm water and use this to lightly wipe the basket. Baking soda degreases and neutralizes odors without being harsh. Always rinse thoroughly.
How often should your air fryer break down?
The basket and drawer of the ideal liter for every use. Clean the interior at least once a week, depending on how often you use the air fryer. If you use it daily, twice a week is not an unnecessary luxury.
A clean air fryer bakes better.
An additional benefit of a clean air fryer is that it performs better. Air can circulate freely, dishes cook more distinctly, and taste fresher. You also significantly extend the lifespan of the appliance.
A sparkling air fryer doesn’t have to be a time-consuming chore. With warm water, a little dish soap, and a streamlined approach, your appliance will be clean, fresh, and ready for use again within five minutes. By making this small maintenance part of your routine, you prevent dirt, unpleasant odors, and unnecessary wear and tear.
In short: do it yourself, little effort, big difference.
