Starbucks Is Bringing Back the Unicorn Frappuccino This Summer — but Only for One Weekend

The Unicorn Frappuccino is coming back!

Starbucks announced that it is reviving its bright pink and blue blended beverage for one weekend at the end of the summer in a June 2 press release.

“The legendary Unicorn Frappuccino blended beverage will return for one weekend to close out the summer,” the chain said.

However, the exact timing of the drink’s return remains as mysterious as the creature it’s named after, as the chain said more details will be revealed later.

Starbucks said in the release that the drink, which was created in 2017, will be sold in locations nationwide and across the world.

The unique drink features crème Frappuccino mix blended with pink powder and mango syrup. It has layers of sour blue drizzle and whipped cream, along with a dash of pink and blue powder on top.

The drink is famously hated by some Starbucks baristas due to the messy process of making it.

The coffee chain brought back the iconic drink earlier this year at Coachella 2026, serving it in festival coffeehouses. It offered the drink “exclusively at Coachella for a few hours each day,” per a release shared with PEOPLE.

The release said that the drink relaunched at the festival to match its free-spirited vibes.

The chain posted on Instagram to announce the worldwide return of the Unicorn Frappuccino, writing “okay we’ll bring it back” over a pink and blue intergalactic background.

“Three days only. see you later this summer,” the chain wrote in its caption.

“I just heard a Starbucks barista somewhere fall to their knees,” a commenter wrote, referring to the animosity between baristas and the viral drink.

In response to the chain’s other Instagram post on its news channel announcing the return of the product, nostalgic customers praised the launch.

“2016 is back 🦄🦄,” one commenter said, referring to the viral 2026 trend of reviving 2016 culture.

However, one person said they “haven’t been a barista in 6 years and I still have ptsd from this launch… 😭😂.”

Starbucks recently introduced another summery flavor — a Tropical Butterfly Refresher.

The purple-hued drink features passionfruit and guava flavors, with mango-pineapple flavored pearls. The distinctive purple color comes from a butterfly pea flower infusion.
