Find out where you’re gaining weight, and we’ll tell you how to deal with it.

  • Healthy young women – these are women who were overweight but generally had very few obesity-related complications, such as type 2 diabetes
  • Men who drink a lot – as above, but with higher alcohol consumption.
  • People over 50, sad and anxious – mainly women with poor mental health and who feel unwell
  • People who are older, wealthy, and healthy – generally in good health – but who drink a lot of alcohol and suffer from high blood pressure.
  • Older people who are physically ill but happy – older people with chronic illnesses such as arthritis but who have good mental health
  • People in poorer health – those who are most economically disadvantaged and those who suffer from the most chronic diseases

This research is important because understanding the causes of obesity could help combat it. This is a major step forward in the treatment of obesity, but further research will be needed.

Although the images above are not directly related to this study, understanding the area where the excess weight is located is crucial to getting rid of it.

There are two types of fat tissue distribution: android and gynoid.

According to PositivMed:

“The Android fat distribution pattern gets its name because it occurs more often in men than in women. You may have heard the term “apple” for it because the waist is wider than the hips.”

I…

“    The gynoid body shape is most commonly seen in women. Many people call this body type a “pear.” In this model, the hip circumference is larger than the waist circumference.”

We analyze the numbers for you!

1. Upper Body Obesity (Android)

This usually means you’re eating too much and not exercising enough. Try cutting back on sweets and exercising for 30 minutes a day. If that doesn’t help, you should see your doctor.

2. Abdominal obesity (Android)

Excess weight in this area can be caused by stress, anxiety or depression. The best way to deal with this problem is through exercise and relaxation techniques. Again, it is recommended to consult a doctor or therapist.

3. Lower body obesity (gynoid obesity)

This is a common problem for many women. Exercises that include lower body strength training combined with cardio are important to eliminate this fat problem. This area can be difficult to treat. Don’t hesitate to seek help.
