Can Dogs Really Sense a “Good” or “Bad” Person?

Dogs don’t see “good guys” and “bad guys” the way humans do; they read signals, not souls. Subtle shifts in posture, tension in a jaw, a quick step forward, a looming body, or a booming voice can make a dog instantly uneasy. Slow movements, softer tones, and giving them the choice to approach can feel far safer. To a dog, these differences are loud, even when we barely notice them.
